Handwoven November - December 2018

The Handwoven November/December 2018 issue is all about lovely lace and lacelike weave structures. Create 12 projects woven using 9 different weave structures including huck lace, bead leno lace, Bronson lace, and Swedish lace. In this issue, lace lends itself well to a variety of projects including 6 woven scarves and several projects for the home including table mats, towels, and even curtains. Plus, two of the projects for rigid-heddle looms and one project for a 16-shaft loom.

Learn the story of Else Regensteiner, an incredible woman who escaped Nazi Germany and ended up becoming one of the first ladies of weaving. Then, weave a scarf based on one of the designs in her groundbreaking book The Art of Weaving. Madelyn van der Hoogt breaks down the differences between Atwater-Bronson lace and Swedish lace.
