About Us

Handwoven celebrates the art, craft, and community of weaving with fresh looks at traditional and innovative techniques, projects in tune with modern lives, and the voices of inventive weavers from around the world.

Lynn Rognsvoog

Editor — New England

Lynn has edited, designed, written, and managed at all sorts of magazines and newspapers.

She first saw Handwoven on a newsstand and couldn’t resist buying each new issue that appeared.

Eventually, those single copies led to a weaving class, more loom purchases than she cares to count, a colorful stash, countless hours weaving—and a job as editor of the very same wonderful magazine that set her on the handweaving path.

If she’s not weaving, she’s probably playing the cello or battling with poison ivy in the hedges. Her cats believe she should devote more time to scratching their fluffy bellies.

Christina Garton

Contributing Editor — New Mexico

Christina’s first foray into fiber arts was learning to knit from her beloved grandmother. While she never quite got the hang of knitting anything beyond scarves, she found her true fiber calling after taking a weaving class in 2008.

She joined the Handwoven team as the assistant editor in 2011. As the contributing editor of Handwoven and the editor of Easy Weaving with Little Looms, Christina strives to create publications that will inspire and delight all levels of weavers, although she especially loves mentoring beginners who are just starting out on their weaving journeys.

Along with weaving on floor looms, Christina also does rigid-heddle, pin, inkle, and tablet weaving.

Debbie Blair

Associate Editor — Fort Collins, Colorado

Debbie learned to knit from a co-worker, but crafting is in her blood: her grandmothers made lace and crocheted afghans, and her mother sewed clothes for the family.

She has degrees in graphic design, which have given her an eye for color and layout, and a certificate in pastry arts, which makes her dream of working in a pâtisserie.

A Colorado native, she loves 80s music and movies, walks on the beach, anything cherry, and alpacas (not necessarily in that order).

Anne Merrow

Editorial Director — Fort Collins, Colorado

Anne grew up in an Early American farmhouse with a barn loom in the attic.

With an appreciation for historical and indigenous weaving techniques, she seeks out handwovens everywhere she visits.

A very beginner 4-shaft weaver, she is delighted by the ingenuity of historic and contemporary woven cloth.

Tiffany Warble

Director of Digital Content & Strategy — Fort Collins, Colorado

Tiffany is a lifelong creative with a passion for all things fiber arts. Since starting in media over 15 years ago, she has never looked back, bringing her expertise in content, digital strategy, and product development to everything she does at Long Thread Media.

Tiffany believes creativity enriches lives and thrives on inspiring and empowering others through craft.

She lives in Colorado with her husband, and when she’s not picking up a new craft, you can find her hiking in the Rocky Mountains.

Katrina King

Editorial Assistant — Colorado

Katrina came late to the party of pin looms and inkle weaving, but is constantly amazed by the variety of projects that arrive from contributors for photo shoots she manages.

Her most recent project was an inkle-woven Baltic pickup lanyard in her younger daughter’s college colors.

Angela K. Schneider

Project Editor — Memphis, Tennessee

Angela wrangles a crew of technical editors and reviews all project instructions to make sure they are complete, correct, and understandable, so readers can enjoy creating beautiful items.

As a complete fiber arts nerd, she’s a perfect fit for working with the wide variety of textile techniques that appear in Long Thread’s communities.

When she occasionally comes across a craft she doesn’t know yet, she’s happy to grab some materials and learn something new.

When not working with fiber, she turns her attention to patterns and strings of a different sort, as a swing and contra dancer, contra dance caller, and amateur musician.

Lavon Peters

Managing Editor — Loveland, Colorado

Lavon has dabbled in various crafts her whole life and has spent the bulk of her career working in publishing.

She loves that her role with Long Thread Media allows her to combine these two passions.

When not managing LTM content, Lavon enjoys reading, quilting, walking, and spending time with her young adult children.
