Shades of India Towels by Sarah H. Jackson

Inspired by the vibrant, saturated colors of Indian textiles, these gorgeous towels are woven in 4-shaft bumberet to better show off the colorful stripes.

Structure: Bumberet.

Loom Type: 4-shaft loom.

Finished Dimensions: 6 towels, 17" x 26" after hemming and wet-finishing.

YARNS

Warp: 8/2 unmercerized cotton (3,360 yd/lb; UKI and Webs), UKI colors: Beauty Rose #24, 274 yd; Old Gold #34, 216 yd; Orange #43, 294 yd; Rose #27, 488 yd; Webs colors: Tobacco #7327, 274 yd; Red #3611, 352 yd; Burgundy #3794, 988 yd.

Weft: 8/2 cotton, UKI: Orange #43, 450 yd; Lipstick #61, 450 yd; Magenta #30, 450 yd; Light Red #29, 450 yd; Webs: Burnt Sienna #7198, 450 yd; Royal Lilac, 450 yd.

Warp Ends: 443.

Warp Length: 6 ½ yd. long.

SETTS

Warp: 22 epi (2/3/3/3 dent in a 8-dent reed).

Weft: 22 ppi bumberet; 16 ppi plain weave.

Width in the Reed: 20 3/8".
