Arrow's Krokbragd Rug

by Wynne Mattila

3-Shaft Project

Arrow is Wynne’s golden retriever. He is an old dog and she wanted to weave a thick rug for him to lie on. Krokbragd is a traditional Scandinavian pattern th a t means “crooked path.” In Krokbragd, every third pick is plain weave to add stability to the boundweave structure. The back of the rug has longer floats over three ends while the front has a tight interlacement that looks like plain weave. Krokbragd allows for wonderful color design in a sturdy, longwearing rug.
