Sweet Honey in a Waffle Baby Blanket Weaving Pattern

This baby blanket uses a waffle weave called Brighton honeycomb, in which the three-dimensional depressions don't line up like a waffle but are offset from each other, more like the cells in a real honeycomb.

Loom Type: 8-shaft loom

Finished Dimensions: Two hemmed baby blankets 36" x 36" each.

YARNS

Warp: 8/2 cotton (3,360 yd/lb, unmercerized; UKI), #34 Old Gold, #56 Light Turquoise, 1,560 yd. each.

Weft: 8/2 cotton, Old Gold, Light Turquoise, 1,291 yd. each. (Available as a kit from Cotton Clouds.)

Warp Ends: 960

Warp Length: 3¼ yd. long

SETTS

Warp: 24 epi (3/dent in a 8-dent reed).

Weft: 24 ppi

Width in the Reed: 40"

Take-up & Shrinkage: 10% in width and 10% in length.
