I joked one time that I had read 200 Ask Madelyns while cleaning up our new website. Honestly, that's what it felt like but it could have been more or less. What I can tell you is that there were very many questions asking about selvedges. Weavers are seemingly obsessed with selvedges. I get it, I'm a weaver, and I fiddle with mine all the time.
Weaving with two shuttles can often mess up your selvedges if you don't have a system. Sometimes you can use floating selvedges to catch every weft pick but there are other times when a simple trick will solve the problem. Check out one of those tricks in this little video clip from our new Introduction to Shadow Weave course with Jannie Taylor.
I didn't expect to see such a useful technique about selvedges in a course about a weave structure but there it was right smack in the middle.
Watch the clip, and then repeat after me, "over, over, and under, under" and you'll be well on your way to better selvedges!
Weave well,
Susan
