Love to go out on the town but hate to take your big everyday purse to the theater or a nice restaurant? You need the Elegant Evening Bag from Easy Weaving with Little Looms 2018! This super-stylish but simple bag is big enough to hold all your necessities (phone, ID and credit card, lipstick) but won’t weigh you down with unnecessary bulk. The slow-striping boucle provides a beautiful, gradual color change that makes this piece stand out in the very best way. Tasteful beaded fringe and a kumihimo strap add the final touches to this elegant bag.

Elegant Evening Bag

Variegated yarn, beaded fringe, and a simple kumihimo strap work together to take Deborah Jarchow’s Elegant Evening Bag from simple to simply spectacular.

As all weavers know, one of the many wonderful things about making your own bag is that you can customize it to suit your needs and wardrobe. So if you’re not into the purples and yellows we used in the issue, change up the colors to suit your style (for example, try black and shades of red or blue and shades of pink). The length of the kumihimo strap is adjustable, so you can create a bag that sits exactly where you want it on your body. Or, if you’d prefer a clutch, simply forgo the strap altogether! If you don’t love beads, leave them off! Not feeling the fringe? Simply hem the bag closed for a simpler silhouette. The possibilities with this fabulous bag are endless!
